ACCENT RADIOFREQUENCY

It is a radiofrequency transmission system with a frequency of 40.8 MHz delivered through applicator modules to induce controlled volumetric heating. The RF power applied is 100 to 200 watts. The initial treatment parameters (power and treatment time) should be set according to the recommended parameters. In moist or sensitive skins, the power should be reduced by 10 to 20 watts. For acned, oily or aged skin, the power should be increased by 10 watts.

The individual modules deliver energy at different depths. The handpiece contains a resonant RF system, an attachable thermo-electric cooler (TEC) and a red switch to activate the system. The bipolar handpiece delivers energy at a depth of 2 to 6 mm. The unipolar handpiece delivers unipolar energy with a penetration of 20 mm and reaches the subcutaneous cell tissue . The large unipolar handpiece reaches deeper fat cell layers.

• We can work on three planes:
• Surface: Bipolar, for tensing the dermis.
• Mid depth: Unipolar, treats skin texture on a superficial level.
• Deep: Large unipolar handpiece, deep fat planes with volumetric heat delivery to a larger amount of deep tissue, attacking the buff-toned fat typical of lipodystrophies in the trochanters, buttocks or sides.
• This assumes the possibility of heating at a greater depth that extends volumetrically to all the surrounding tissue with a much lower thermal relaxation time (cooling time) which keeps the tissue at therapeutic temperatures (high temperatures).
• The new large unipolar handpiece shortens the pre-therapeutic stage since the tissues reach a preheating temperature faster.
• This allows for more time to work on each grid in the therapeutic stage, with more heating seconds, the average effect for each Accent XS session is of 30% more effectiveness.
• The special design of the large unipolar hand piece has optimised the balance between the contact surface (surface through which the radiofrequency enters the skin) with the power delivered and the cooling ability so that one is constantly working with 30% more power to that possible to date, penetrating the radiofrequency energy in a much more homogenous manner.
• Homogeneous penetration of energy avoids heat peaks on the skin surface which imply acute burning sensations that force the therapist to stop the application with the subsequent cooling of the tissue and loss of the therapeutic effect which comes with heated tissue for longer.
• The special design of the handpiece leaves the treatment area totally painless despite working a much higher power.

Accent XS applications

Localised adiposity, cellulite and flaccidity, false cellulite (that which is accompanied by flaccidity), almost always combined with techniques such as carboxytherapy or silicon infiltrations. In cases of localised adiposity, treatment is usually combined with ultracavitation and/or mechanical massage.

Sessions are carried out fortnightly and simultaneous treatments can be performed on several body areas. Flaccidity on the arms can be treated with bipolar and then the trochanters (saddle bags) with large unipolar performing two consecutive sessions in the one visit.

Some of the contraindications include: patients with skin alterations, pacemakers, defibrillators or cardioverters or metal implants in the area to be treated.
