RADIOFREQUENCY APPLICATIONS

Radiofrequency Treatment

In the field of Aesthetic Medicine, the applications for radiofrequency can be the following (understanding that according to the type of equipment and the patient’s problem, one type of device or another would be more interesting; and assuming that in many cases the presence of other concomitant therapeutic elements would be necessary):

  • Flaccidity (with improved skin texture and elasticity)
  • Wrinkles
  • Cellulite
  • Active and scarring acne

The efficiency of radiofrequency delivery on the skin produces an improvement of cellulite and flaccidity in three ways:

Radiofrequency treatment Scene
  • 1. Thermal tensing of the septum fibres due to the thermal damage that affects vascularisation, which initiates a cascade of inflammatory events, including fibroblastic proliferation and apparent regulation of the collagen expression (neocollagenesis).
  • 2. Improvement of local blood circulation (vasodilation and hyperaemia) and drainage of the fatty deposits to the lymph system.
  • 3. Destruction of the fat cells and apoptosis of the adipocytes induced by heat.

Monopolar systems have greater penetration than the bipolar ones and those allows them to have applications on body areas with associated flaccidity in areas such as the abdomen, buttocks or trochanters, inside of arms or thighs.
