FACTORS INFLUENCING PREDISPOSITION
- Genetic, the tendency to suffer from cellulite is firstly racial, as well as having a distinct family influence. Caucasian women are more propense to suffer from cellulite than Asian women.
- Toxic: Certain substances such as alcohol can stimulate further cellulite development, as well as tobacco, constipation, hypercholesterolemia and hyperuricemia.
- Pharmacological, come substances such as oral contraceptives, sleeping pills, sedatives or NSAIDs can expedite the alteration of the basic substance in the extracellular compartments and alter the medium sufficiently to favour the appearance of cellulite.
- Nutritional, high carbohydrate and/or fat intake aids the appearance of cellulite.
- Vascular and mechanical, the alteration of venous circulation caused by varicose veins, sitting in positions that favour the appearance of varicose veins for extended periods of time, repeated traumatisms or tiring positions can all collaborate in the appearance of cellulite.
- Quality of life: High alcohol or tobacco intake, lack of sleep, tight-fitting clothes, can all affect the functioning of the microvascular structure of the subcutaneous cell tissue and collaborate in the appearance of cellulite.
- Neurovegetative, emotional affectations such as anxiety can cause neurovegetative dystonia which is characterised by the liberation of catecholamines that can cause alterations in peripheral micro-circulation and also affecting the fat tissue and aggravating cellulite.
- Metabolic factors, some disorders, such as liver disease or diabetes could aid in the development of cellulite.
