ABSOLUTE AND RELATIVE CONTRAINDICATIONS

Some absolute contraindications are:

  • Pregnancy
  • Presence of metals in the skin due to gold thread implants or tattoos with metals in their pigments
  • Pacemakers
  • Skin pathologies, wounds or special intolerances

And relative contraindications such as:

  • Presence of fillers, although several studies have been published that certify the good tolerance to radiofrequency in tissue with previously injected fillers, prudence is advised
  • Recent surgery or deep chemical peel
  • Recent treatments with oral Cis-Retinol
  • History of keloids

Immediate or premature adverse effects could be:

  • Heat sensation or slight pain
  • Moderate erythema
  • Swelling
  • Hyper sensitivity to touch or dysesthesia
  • Burns, very rare

Some later adverse effects have been described, such as:

  • Bruising
  • Urticaria
  • Migraines
  • Fat atrophy
